Compensation: USD 2,400

1. DESCRIPTION OF PARAMI UNIVERSITY

 

Started in 2017 with a vision to create change agents from all walks of life, Parami Institute launched its flagship program, the Parami Leadership Program, aiming to transform Myanmar youth into lifelong learners, effective leaders, and responsible citizens through a liberal arts and sciences education. Parami serves students between the ages of 20 and 30 from all across Myanmar who come from a diverse array of religious and ethnic backgrounds and have an equally diverse set of experiences. In light of the current situation in Myanmar, all education has moved online and programming has been modified as well. We are offering a variety of online education programs to the students of Myanmar through the innovative use of education technology and have employed several cutting-edge educational technologies including a learning management system (LMS) and a student information system (SIS).

2. JOB SUMMARY

​

Parami University is looking for a detail-oriented and personable Admissions and Student Affairs Director to provide oversight for student recruitment and to organize a variety of student activities and programs. The Director is also responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to address students’ academic needs and performance in our programs. The director must proactively develop interactive in-person and online programs to nurture a sense of community, cohesion, and unity among the students. This position is expected to be en route to director position.

3. POSITION REQUIREMENTS

​

(1) Fluency in English and Burmese;

(2) Excellent oral and written communication skills;

(3) A bachelor’s degree (or higher) preferably from a liberal arts and sciences institution;

(4) At least 3 years of relevant experience in the education field and/or management and program positions;

(5) Ability to travel frequently with a valid passport. We will be assessing the following competencies that are required to succeed in this position:

(8) Familiarity with data collection and analysis 9) Ability to work independently and flexibly.

4. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

(1) Manage admissions team and student affairs team to reach organization goals;

(2) Develop workplans and activities to meet student recruitment goals and student learning outcomes;

(3) Develop and manage budgets for admissions and student support activities;

(4) Lead online and offline student recruitment activities and information sessions;

(5) Provide guidance to prospective students and their families on undergraduate programs, and admissions requirements;

(6) Work closely with the communications team, development team and the academic department on various matters such as student outreach, fundraising and reporting, and academic issues;

(7) Maintain up-to-date records of applicant data, admissions decisions, and financial aid information;

(8) Develop policies and processes for admissions and financial aid applications.
