In this interview, Dr. Phil Enns reflects on his three-year journey at Parami University, sharing insights on liberal arts education, academic development, and the experiences that shaped his time as Dean of Academic Affairs.

Can a simple shape or a color represent who we are? The answer may seem unlikely. Sometimes, behind every shape and color, there are personal experiences, emotions, and memories. This is the idea behind Geometric Echos, a photography exhibition by the student-led Media Club at Parami University.

On June 8, 2026, at exactly 2:32 PM, Ei Mon Soe was still seated in a commencement panel discussion at Parami University. She had just finished speaking as a panelist for “Looking Back and Ahead: Seniors’ Journey from Classrooms to Beyond.” It was already a milestone moment—one that captured years of growth, challenges, and transformation.

Rain tapped gently against my window on the morning after everything had finally slowed down. For weeks, life had moved at an impossible pace—senior capstone presentations, commencement rehearsals, family visits, packing, farewells, and the quiet realization that a chapter was ending. Then, suddenly, there was nowhere left to rush. The silence felt unfamiliar.

What keeps people moving forward when the path ahead is uncertain and full of obstacles? It often begins with clarity of purpose. Clarity enables a shift from uncertainty toward direction and builds confidence in the impact being made. It brings structure to complexity, shaping how we think, communicate, and decide. In moments of stress or confusion, clarity does not remove challenges—but helps make sense of them.

As the world marks World Refugee Day under the theme “Until Everyone Is Safe,” the global community is reminded that safety goes beyond escaping conflict. It also includes access to education, legal protection, healthcare, and livelihoods, enabling people to rebuild with dignity.
