Dr. James Batcho, Professor in the Division of Social Science and Humanities, has published an essay titled Signs of Life: A Process Philosophy of Audible Semiotics.

Led by Mia Sasaki, an instructor at Parami University, undergraduate students published their stories in the special edition of the Upper New Review this semester.

The panel was co-organized by the Indonesian Heritage Society and Parara, an organization promoting ethical handicrafts, and brought together voices deeply rooted in the region’s cultural landscape: Dr. Will Buckingham, writer, researcher, and Parami University faculty member; Poppy Barkah of Wastra Indonesia; Hiyashinte Klise, traditional arts activist and founder of the Lamerenan Foundation; and Yalanthy Masrikat, a master weaver from Tanimbar.

Faculty, students, and staff from Parami University presented their papers at the Taiwan Southeast Asian Studies conference in Taichung.

Dr. Dale Mineshima-Lowe, a faculty member in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Parami University, presented at “Collaborating with or for Artificial Intelligence?”, an online expert panel organized by The Hague Centre for Digital Governance, Leiden University, in the last week of September 2025. 

Dr. Elena Nikolova, a full-time faculty member of Social Science and Humanities at Parami University, has been appointed as Associate Editor of the journal Gender, Technology and Development (Q2), which is hosted by the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok.

Dr. David Golding, Chair of the Division of Social Science and Humanities at Parami University, has co-authored a chapter in the newly released and first-ever SAGE Handbook of Peace and Conflict Studies. The chapter, titled “Decolonizing Peace: Possibilities for Pluriversality,” was co-authored with the former Provost of the American University of Afghanistan.
