PUCDC Organization Talk Series: Career Clarity and Life Design

ree

Parami University continued its Organization Talk Series on October 2, 2025, with the second workshop led by Min Thaw, Talent Solutions & Partnership Development Specialist at Crossworks. The session, titled “Career Clarity and Design Your Life,” expanded on the self-reflection framework introduced during the first Crossworks workshop in September.

The workshop focused on career reflection and the alignment of personal passion with long-term income goals. Min Thaw engaged actively with students who previously received career consultations, offering tailored guidance to support their professional development. He provided a step-by-step approach for evaluating personal interests, expertise, and resilience—key components for building a fulfilling career.

He emphasized three fundamental steps for career clarity: “Step 1: Know Yourself, Step 2: Know the World of Work, and Step 3: Test and Try.”

He also shared his own professional journey, detailing how he transitioned across multiple roles before discovering his passion.

Throughout the session, the speaker encouraged students to identify a career they feel deeply committed to, even amid challenges. He outlined the responsibilities associated with various job paths and explained how students can match their interests with relevant industries. The practical guidance offered was aimed at helping students design stable, meaningful, and purpose-driven careers.

During the Q&A segment, students expressed concerns about identifying a career aligned with their passion, particularly when uncertain about their current paths. Responding to these questions, Min Thaw recounted how his career evolved from teaching English to working in the corporate sector. He advised students to continue pursuing work they enjoy while staying informed about changing job market trends, enabling them to grow professionally in roles that reflect their interests.

The workshop encouraged students to think beyond conventional career choices and design pathways that balance personal interests, financial stability, and community impact.
