Parami University’s Career Development Center hosted the second session of its Graduate Talk Series on October 21, 2025, featuring the theme “Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Program: Full Scholarships in Europe.” The session was led by Tin Shine Aung, an alumnus of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Program, who presented key insights in three main areas: program information, self-management when relocating to diverse foreign countries, and financial management for scholarship recipients.
In the program information segment, he introduced sample fields offered under the program—Education and Climate Change—and guided students through practical steps for navigating program requirements and guidelines by exploring official program websites together.
He also showcased student experience videos highlighting the relocation process from one European country to another, depending on the university and major selected. Discussing differences between Eastern and Western education systems, he noted, “In Myanmar, we don’t have proper education facilities. For example, you may be working in a lab without knowing how to use advanced equipment.”
He emphasized the importance of choosing a major that aligns with one’s passion and long-term career goals. Cultural adaptation, he added, is another crucial element for Asian scholars studying in Western European contexts.
In the final part of the talk, he provided detailed information on scholarship funding and offered strategies for managing finances effectively—particularly important since the program requires relocation to at least two European countries throughout the study period.
During the Q&A session, many students expressed concerns about cultural differences and their readiness to integrate into diverse European communities. In response, Tin Shine Aung shared practical tips on choosing suitable dormitories, managing living expenses, and preparing for life abroad. His guidance underscored the value of lifelong learning and self-management throughout the academic journey.
More Graduate Talk episodes featuring world-class scholars and their community-building experiences are planned. Stay tuned for upcoming sessions.
