The recent town hall meeting with parents and guardians of Parami University students focused on opportunities that support students’ continued learning and personal growth beyond academic study.

Updates on academic programs, international experiences, and extracurricular opportunities were shared to highlight how Parami University’s education is designed to support students’ personal and professional development.

During the discussion, the President of Parami University, Dr. Kyaw Moe Tun, spoke about the role of education in preparing students for their future careers and in contributing to the country’s development. He explained that the university has been expanding its faculty and course offerings to give students a wider range of options and more tailored learning experiences. He added that “this will allow students to explore their interests in depth while developing critical thinking and practical skills."

Alongside curriculum expansion, the university continues to promote global exposure and experiential learning for students.

Global learning opportunities were a key topic of discussion. Over the past two summers, 11 students completed internship programs in Washington, D.C., gaining professional experience and exposure to different cultural and working environments. Student exchange programs to Taiwan are also planned for August, giving students additional chances to engage internationally and broaden their perspectives.

The meeting highlighted the role of the Parami University Career Development Center in helping students gain practical experience and expand their career pathways.

Parami University Community Development Center has strengthened partnerships with organizations across multiple development sectors. These include education and lifelong learning, women’s empowerment and leadership, career development and professional networking, and social impact and community development.

Through internships and service-learning opportunities, students can apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings, build leadership capacity, and explore future careers. The university is also preparing to celebrate an important milestone this June, when approximately 30 students are expected to receive their first Bachelor’s degrees.

Parami University continues to invest in student success by strengthening its academic offerings, expanding global exposure, and enhancing experiential learning opportunities. Through these initiatives, the university strives to prepare graduates who are ready to contribute meaningfully to their communities and professions.
