Parami addresses family's concerns at spring town hall meeting

Family Town Hall Meeting in Spring 2025

Through open and transparent dialogue at the Family Town Hall Meeting, the university strengthens its connection with families, fostering trust, inclusion, and shared support in each student's educational journey. The recent meeting at Parami welcomed nearly 40 participants, including students, parents, guardians, faculty, and university leadership, for a heartfelt conversation that bridged generations and experiences. 

The President of Parami University, Dr. Kyaw Moe Tun, and the Director of Admissions and Student Affairs, Aung Myin Thu, led the session with humility and vision, creating a space where families could share their concerns, ask questions, and better understand their children's academic journey. Parents and guardians shared concerns about academic challenges, emotional stress from studying away, and financial hardship after the March earthquake in Myanmar.

To address the parents' concerns, Dr. Kyaw Moe Tun shared how Parami University is actively addressing many students' financial hardships. He emphasized, " No student should be forced to choose between education and economic survival." Dr. Kyaw Moe Tun also highlighted the loan program, which aims to support those from economically challenged backgrounds, allowing them to pursue higher education without the overwhelming burden of financial stress.

Additionally, Parami has provided relief support to students and their families affected by the recent Myanmar earthquake. This initiative reflects the university's strong sense of social responsibility and unwavering commitment to standing with its community during times of crisis.

These efforts are not temporary solutions but part of a broader, long-term vision to make higher education accessible and equitable. 

"What are the job opportunities for our children after they graduate from Parami?" This heartfelt question, often raised by parents and guardians during town hall meetings, reflects their hopes and expectations for their children's future. Understanding their concerns, the recently established Parami University Career Development Center (PUCDC) was also presented at the meeting. PUCDC aims to support graduates in securing employment. The program bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world experience, connects students with meaningful internships and career opportunities, and builds lasting networks across diverse sectors and industries.  

Parami holds biannual town hall meetings that bring together students, families, and faculty to discuss progress, address challenges, and strengthen the academic community through open dialogue and collaboration.
