Town hall meeting to listen to the voices of family members

Updated: Sep 20

Parami University organized a town hall meeting last week to meet with students' family members. The meeting was held virtually and attended by over 80 participants, including the President of Parami University, Dr. Kyaw Moe Tun, students and their family members, and staff.

The meeting allowed the university to learn more about the students' families and provided a space for the family members to ask questions and share their expectations.

In the opening remark, the President of Parami University, Dr. Kyaw Moe Tun, talked about the university's mission to provide quality education to students from underserved communities, US internship opportunities, and scholarship opportunities, including the learning hub support for students in emergency situations.

Family members of the students showed great interest in the Parami education system, and they described Parami's education as "very aspirational for the future."

The parents of students from Myanmar expressed gratitude for the opportunities the university provided their children in times of calamity. Other family members appreciated Parami's admissions policy of accepting students from different religious and ethnic groups without discrimination.

Parami University's flexible admissions policy admits students regardless of their financial and educational backgrounds. Parami is now home to over 240 students from Myanmar, Thailand, and Kenya, including from the border areas and refugee camps.
