PUCDC links students' academic experience to their future careers

The Institutional Advancement Team at Parami University has launched a Career Development Center in the Spring semester. The PUCDC is designed to empower Parami students with the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to navigate their career journeys with confidence and purpose. 

The center promotes critical thinking, inspired leadership, and civic engagement. Reflecting on its missions, PUCDC 1) bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world experience, 2) connects students with meaningful internships and career opportunities, and 3) builds lasting networks across diverse sectors and industries. 

The Parami University Career Development Center (PUCDC) empowers students by providing career exploration guidance, job search support, resume development tools, and opportunities to connect with professionals.

To date, PUCDC has successfully organized two organization talk series, two career talk series, two group mentorship sessions, three workshop sessions in collaboration with the Language and Learning Center, and the ongoing group mentorship programs. Most importantly, the Center was able to help 10 undergraduate students secure internships across seven organizations working in areas such as entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, environmental sustainability, civic innovation, and legal and business support, driving positive social change in Myanmar.

PUCDC invites professionals from NGOs, corporate entities, and entrepreneurs to give insight into their profession and organizations, such as internship opportunities and career development. 

The Center offers two core services: mentorship and talk series. These include career planning, mentorship, and skill-building workshops to prepare students for the workplace. Services also include resume and cover letter support, interview coaching, and networking opportunities. We also provide guidance on graduate school options and application preparation.
