The Class of 2026 receives Associate of Arts degrees at Parami University's Commencement Ceremony in June 2024

On June 9, 2026, Parami University will celebrate its Commencement Ceremony at the Chiangmai Grandview Hotel in Chiang Mai, Thailand, honoring the graduation of the first-ever cohort of Bachelor of Arts students, as well as Associate degree graduates from the Classes of 2026 and 2028. The ceremony will be held from 8:30 AM to 11:10 AM (Indochina Time, ICT).

Bringing together graduates, faculty, trustees, families, and international partners, the ceremony underscores Parami University’s continued commitment to expanding access to higher education and fostering academic excellence across diverse student communities.

The ceremony will open with a formal academic procession led by faculty members, trustees, and student representatives carrying the university’s gonfalons and ceremonial mace, symbolizing the institution’s academic traditions and shared community values.

Welcome remarks will be delivered by Dr. Kyaw Moe Tun, President of Parami University, followed by opening remarks from Zali Win, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Graduates and guests will also hear from Dr. Jonathan Becker, Executive Vice President of Bard College, and Dr. Phil Enns, Dean of Academic Affairs at Parami University. A key highlight of the ceremony will be the conferral of an Honorary Degree on Dr. Kevin Quigley in recognition of his contributions to Parami University, international education, civic leadership, and global engagement. As Parami celebrates the graduation of its first Bachelor of Arts cohort, his presence is especially meaningful. Dr. Quigley will also deliver the 2026 Commencement Address.

The ceremony will celebrate graduates receiving Bachelor’s and Associate degrees through Parami University’s partnership with Bard College. Both in-person and virtual graduates will be recognized for their academic achievements, perseverance, and commitment throughout their studies.

In addition, the ceremony will feature a Student Awards segment recognizing outstanding achievements in academic excellence, leadership, civic engagement, innovation, and community building. Selected students will also receive Civic Engagement Awards from Bard College in recognition of their commitment to public service, community impact, and civic responsibility. Student commencement speakers from both degree cohorts will share reflections on their educational journeys and aspirations for the future.

“This is a significant milestone for Parami University as we celebrate the achievements of our first Bachelor’s degree graduates, along with the largest group of Associate degree graduates in our institutional history,” said Dr. Kyaw Moe Tun, President of Parami University. “I am extremely proud of our graduates and look forward to seeing the impact they will make in their communities, professions, and beyond. Congratulations to the Classes of 2026 and 2028 on this remarkable achievement.”

The ceremony will conclude with a traditional gong-ringing ritual, symbolizing both completion and new beginnings for the graduating class.

Following the ceremony, graduates, faculty, and trustees will gather for an official photo session, while guests will have opportunities to connect with the university community and celebrate the accomplishments of the Classes of 2026 and 2028. The Commencement Ceremony will be livestreamed via Parami University’s official YouTube channel to provide broader access for students, families, alumni, friends, and partners of Parami.
