University life brings many challenges. Students face heavy coursework, tight deadlines, and personal stress. At an online university like Parami, it can feel harder. As an online student, you may feel isolated, struggle with motivation, or worry about staying on track. These pressures are real and common. When stress builds and motivation drops, these questions will multiply: Am I on the right track? How do I balance everything? Who can I turn to when things feel heavy?

Academic advisors at Parami University guide our undergraduate students with academic advice and tutoring services. They advise students on choosing classes, meeting graduation requirements, and navigating university life. They also offer tutoring services for essay drafting and revising, help students understand assignments, and provide general academic support. As Parami is an online university, academic advisors serve as a vital bridge between students and the institution. Their personalized support helps students navigate challenges, stay engaged, and build the confidence they need to succeed in a virtual learning environment.

Meet Your Advisors

Lia Sokol  Lia Sokol is thrilled to be entering her second year at Parami and excited to keep supporting students in all their endeavors. Before Parami, she graduated from Cornell University with an independent research degree in Democratic Governance and Geopolitics, and her main interests lie at the intersection of human rights, foreign policy, and civil society resilience. Her previous experience includes interning in Washington, D.C. at the Department of State and the Nuclear Threat Initiative, working with NGOs in Ukraine, and teaching English in Madrid. Beyond the classroom, Lia enjoys live music, trying out new coffee shops, long walks, and learning new languages (most recently Burmese)!

Kedhar Bartlett

Kedhar Bartlett is joining Parami University as a new academic advisor this fall. Kedhar graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.S. in Molecular Environmental Biology and a minor in Human Rights, and continues to explore interests such as social justice, intercultural solidarity, and medicine. Kedhar has extensive experience in education, healthcare, and community organizing. In his free time, Kedhar loves enjoying live music, exploring the outdoors, and anything involving food!

Mu Hsi Hsi

Mu Hsi Hsi is excited to be joining Parami as an Academic Advisor and looks forward to supporting students in their academic and personal journeys. She is a recent graduate of Stanford University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in International Relations and a minor in Human Rights. She came to the U.S. as a Karen refugee at age five and grew up in Tennessee. Her work centers on amplifying the voices of communities affected by conflict and displacement, with interests in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, self-determination, and human rights. Her previous experience includes internships with the Palau Mission to the UN, the U.S. Department of State's Conflict and Stabilization Operations, and the School of Governance and Public Administration in Mae Sot, Thailand. During her free time, she enjoys exploring new places, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Pone Nyet Aung

Pone Nyet Aung is a recent graduate of Parami University, where she earned her degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Her previous experience includes interning with NAFSA: Association of International Educators in Washington, D.C., alongside civic engagement work through programs in Berlin, Germany, and at Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. She has led initiatives centered on accessible education, mental health, youth engagement, and community building. Pone Nyet's interests lie at the intersection of mental health and education, and she is excited to keep building on this work at Parami and beyond. Beyond the classroom, Pone Nyet enjoys running, going on long walks, petting cats, and trying out new sweet pastries.

Eaint Thet Hmu

Eaint Thet Hmu earned her dual degree through Parami University and Bard College as a member of the inaugural Class of 2026, graduating with a background in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. Her interests span gender studies, democratic governance, education policy, and civic engagement, with a particular focus on how education shapes gender justice, collective action, and democratic resilience. 

Beyond the classroom, Eaint has been deeply engaged in student leadership, debating, and civic initiatives. She served on the Constitution Drafting Committee for Parami's first Student Council, led the Public Speaking and Debate Club as President, and co-led Project PyitTineHtaung, a grant-winning initiative advancing comprehensive sexuality education and gender equality in Burma. She is drawn to questions of how knowledge is produced, who gets access to it, and what it takes to make institutions more just. When she's not working, Eaint can be found curled up with a fiction or comic, deep into a TV series, or chasing the perfect playlist for whatever mood she's in. As a fun fact: she believes in mermaids and unicorns.
