About the Course

How will participants learn in this course?

This course will take a practical, hands-on approach with lots of guided reading and writing time and small group peer-to-peer editing activities during sessions. Together, we will hone the ability to write powerful, engaging and compelling non-fiction.

What will they learn?

True Stories Go Global will allow learners to explore and experience non-fiction writing in multiple forms. We all have stories to tell, and these stories enable us to connect with others around the globe. This course will introduce learners to the diversity of non-fiction and allow them to experiment in writing across multiple forms. It will enable them to harvest stories from their own experiences and to find their voices as storytellers.

What will the projects look like?

x3 writing assignments will enable participants to develop and submit a piece of writing of up to 1,000 words inspired by content from our workshops. The final project will involve the development and submission of writing of up to 2,500 words. Again, this will be inspired by and guided by content from our course workshops.
