How will participants learn in this course?

This course will involve a lot of practical lessons where we will go through a step-by-step process for creating compelling illustrations expressing your creative voice as an illustrator. With group sessions, we will give each other feedback and develop a clear message through illustration. 

What will they learn? 

In this course, you will learn about the essential process of creating illustrations through your unique creative voice. We will learn how to produce editorial illustrations from reading a story, an article or a brief from a client. We will practice improving and delivering a clear message through our illustrations. 

What will the projects look like?

Each of you will get to choose a piece of writing, music, literature or poetry either provided by JC or as your choice of preference. Then we will digest the chosen piece to translate it into a visual work. That starts with creating it into a concept, sketching, reviewing, polishing your sketch as a final piece and presenting it to the class. By the end of the course, you will have a creative expressive illustration that could only come from you.
