About the Course

The Changemakers for Community Equity course aims to empower participants to become effective advocates for social justice and community equity. In this course, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the relevance and significance of community equity, and develop the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to drive positive change within their communities. Through a combination of theoretical concepts, practical exercises, and real-world case studies, participants will explore the complexities of systemic oppression and learn strategies for dismantling barriers to create more inclusive and just communities.

Kyaw Sit Naing (M.S.W.)

Kyaw Sit Naing is a social work educator and advocate dedicated to promoting social work education and enhancing the social work profession in Myanmar. He is the founder of the Yangon School of Social Work, the pioneering social work school in the country. In addition to his role as a founder, Kyaw Sit Naing has a wealth of teaching experience. Since 2016, he has been a visiting lecturer at the Department of Psychology, Yangon University and he taught Diversity and Social Inclusion at Parami University during the Spring semester of 2023.
