Michael Jennings

Director of Institutional Assessment

Michael Jennings is the Director of Institutional Assessment at Parami University. During his forty years on the faculty of Princeton University, he held appointments in the Departments of German, Art and Archaeology, and French and Italian, and in the School of Architecture; he retired in 2021 as the Class of 1900 Professor of Modern Languages, Emeritus. His scholarly work focuses on the Critical Theory of the Frankfurt School. At Princeton, he co-chaired the University Steering Committee on Decennial Accreditation, chaired a Presidential task force that reshaped the university’s dining services, and served on committees that oversaw the budget, faculty appointments and promotions, admissions, and financial aid (among many others). He chaired the Department of German for thirteen years and served as the faculty master of one of Princeton’s residential colleges for another nine. Jennings has a longstanding interest in Myanmar. From 2015 to 2020, he and his wife led trips that introduced Americans to the country. He currently serves as a member of the board and Treasurer of the Cetana Educational Foundation; Cetana has provided educational opportunities to Myanmar’s youth for more than 25 years.
