Dr. Zaw Naing

Dr. Zaw Naing is the Managing Director of Mandalay Technology and a researcher and consultant with over 20 years of experience in development advisory. He holds a Ph.D. from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Thailand, where his research established National Human Resource Development (NHRD) as the primary catalyst for Myanmar’s progress.
A Fellow of the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (AAET) and a Humphrey Fellow at Michigan State University, Dr. Zaw Naing’s expertise in GIS and Remote Sensing has led to significant contributions to NASA-funded research projects on urban studies and Land-Cover and Land-Use Change (LCLUC). He also spearheaded the establishment of the AI and Robotics Laboratory at Yangon Technological University (YTU), funded by a grant from the Government of India.
In 2020, he founded the Zanaka Education Foundation to address systemic gaps in Myanmar’s education sector. As a leading advocate for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, he focuses on the synergy between technology and human capital to drive sustainable growth in emerging economies.
