Dr. Aye Hninn Khine

Dr. Aye Hninn Khine is a researcher and educator specializing in natural language processing (NLP), multilingual and multimodal AI, low-resource language technologies, trustworthy AI, and AI for social good, with a particular emphasis on Southeast Asian languages.
She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Prince of Songkla University, where her research focused on natural language processing in the medical domain. Before pursuing an academic career, she worked on AI and NLP projects in both industry and academia, contributing to the development of language technologies and AI-powered applications.
Aye is a Google Developer Expert (GDE) in AI and actively contributes to the regional AI research community. She is a core contributor to SEACrowd, and a board member of Women in AI Myanmar. Her work aims to advance inclusive AI by developing datasets, benchmarks, and language technologies for underrepresented languages and communities. She received Google Awards for Machine Learning Research and Education with TPUs in May 2026.
In addition to research, Aye is passionate about AI education and regularly delivers workshops and technical training on large language models, AI agents, cloud computing, and machine learning.
