Dr. Dale Mineshima-Lowe

Dr. Dale Mineshima-Lowe teaches on politics, governance, and the environment. She completed her postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom (Ph.D., University of Durham), and her undergraduate studies in California, USA (BSc, Santa Clara University). Her research spans democratic transitions and governance issues, and her current research examines the developing area of citizens and data activism – how civic organizations are using digital technologies to engage citizens in combating corruption and environmental issues. She also holds teaching credentials - UK Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Adult/Further Education), Senior Fellow - Advance Higher Education (UK), and certified member of the Association for Learning Technology (ALT, UK). Dale is currently a visiting lecturer on Climate Change & Environmental Hazards (Birkbeck, University of London); an Associated Researcher with the European Democracy Institute (Bard College Berlin); and Managing Editor for the Center of International Relations - a think tank based in Washington, D.C.
