The session will cover the general idea of royalty distribution, with fun examples and stories about music royalties, as well as the data infrastructure behind the process. GEMA, Germany’s collection society for music copyrights, processes petabytes of data every year to distribute more than a billion euros. It will also explore the real world tech stack of a traditional institution like GEMA, which now needs to support big data processing.
