About the event

There is a growing number of scholars and literary critics who argue that climate fiction is not only a hot literary trend but may also help stop our planet from becoming even hotter. This is often attributed to its capacity to allow us to feel, rather than merely think about, what our future might be if we fail to act on climate change. In this talk, the speaker will assess these claims in light of available empirical evidence on how reading climate fiction affects our emotions and intentions to act.
